We went out to milk the goat tonight and one of our 6 week old baby chicks was sitting under the steps soaking wet. When we put her back into the coop with the other chickens she was not moving around at all. We figured if we left her out there she may not make it through the night. In she came in to spend the night inside. A few years ago we never would have thought that we’d have a chicken sitting in a plastic bin on our kitchen table. What are we thinking?! However, even after just an hour being inside her feathers are all dry and fluffy and she seems much happier.
I also thought it was pretty cool how you can see the blue skin of this Silkie chicken. The Silkie is the only chicken that has blue skin and the meat is also blue. So, hopefully this wet bird won’t have the blues any longer!
